Straight and Conical elements
Garboli Performance includes wet double-head grinding and finishing configurations for straight or selected conical elements. These arrangements combine abrasive treatment with feed and can be specified for larger, continuous production processes. Workpiece dimensions, diameter variation, material and required surface condition determine whether the configuration is suitable.

Grinding a tapered surface
A conical element has a diameter that changes progressively along its axis and may still be straight. Abrasive contact and support must accommodate that variation. Wet grinding uses circulating coolant and associated filtration to manage the working process; the two heads provide successive abrasive stages according to the specified setup.
Surface treatment within the production cycle
Selected configurations provide programmable process settings and can be integrated with loading, unloading or adjacent equipment. These capabilities concern the chosen system and do not make every Performance machine suitable for conical components. Grinding and finishing treat an already formed surface; they do not create the taper.
The general straight and conical workpiece section distinguishes surface treatment, end work and handling. For constant-section stock, consult the Performance round and oval tube and bar application. Share the diameter variation, length, incoming surface and required result with Garboli to discuss the grinding and finishing configuration.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. A tapered tube or pole may have a straight axis while its diameter varies progressively along the length.
The application concerns abrasive treatment of an already formed conical surface. It does not imply taper-forming capability.
No. Selected wet double-head configurations provide this application. Dimensions, diameter variation, material and required result must match the chosen system.
